Collaborative Modeling
The Xyna Process Modeller is designed for modeling in a collaborative manner. Several users can work inside the same Workspace together at the same time. Due to the collaboration platform inside the Xyna Process Modeller all changes in XMOM Objects like Workflows and Data Types will be shared immediately. If one user begins to edit a certain XMOM Object, other users will see this object in a locked state. Even if an XMOM Object is locked, every user can open it and follow each modeling action of the modeling user in real-time.
The user that is currently working on a certain XMOM Object is shown at Locked by in the detail view inside of the Xyna Process Modeller or at the Locked by column in the Deployment Items section in Xyna Factory Manager.
When editing a Datatype or an Exception, the list of possible types to use as parent or for member variables is kept up to date. If a used Datatype or Exception is removed, deployment will fail. However the current version is still saved, preventing information loss. If that XMOM is reopend, a repair dialog shows where and what missing types are used.
When editing a Workflow, there are multiple interaction possibilities between the workflow and referenced XMOMs. After every change to the Workflow, all formulas are reevaluated and missing members are displayed as prototypes. If a Service used in the workflow is deleted or changes its signature, no update is made to the workflow. Workflows containing services that were deleted or have an outdated signature cannot be deployed. Reopening the workflow shows a repair dialog containing information about necessary changes to conform with the current XMOM.
Please note: Lock states will always be updated immediatly.
